Socioeconomic issues: Industry
An overview
Numerous industries already rely upon the Peace River, including the two pre-existing BC Hydro dams and a third soon to be built near Dunvegan, Alberta.

Other industries include oil, gas, petroleum, agriculture, building construction, recreation and tourism. However, pipeline and coal activities have been significantly curtailed in recent years because of the first two dams and their reservoirs.

In this section, we focus on the impact on the agricultural industry.
